Wassenaar is a town and municipality in the province of South Holland, near The Hague. The municipality has over 26,000 inhabitants and covers an area of 62.5 square kilometers. Besides Wassenaar itself, there are a few hamlets within the municipality.

Voorlinden is a private museum for modern and contemporary art. The museum houses the art collection of Joop van Caldenborgh, known as the Caldic Collection, the largest private art collection in the Netherlands. The museum opened only in 2016, so it's relatively new. Nearby is sculpture garden Clingenbosch, featuring more than sixty works by national and international artists. Wassenaar is also home to theater and event location Warenar, where you can regularly attend theatrical performances and other events, such as pub quizzes. Moreover, Wassenaar's library houses a film theater, so you don't need to leave the village to watch cinema films.
For a more adventurous outing, you don't need to leave Wassenaar either, as you can spend a day at the amusement park Duinrell, located on an estate at the edge of the village. The park offers over 40 attractions for the whole family and is set in a beautiful, green environment. The site also features a campsite, hostel, and the Tikibad swimming pool.
